This year, Furthr & The Guinness Enterprise Centre partnered with Dublin Simon Community, an organisation doing invaluable work supporting people experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

The scale of Ireland's homeless crisis has reached unprecedented heights, with the number of people living in emergency accommodation across Ireland climbing to a record high of 17,548 in 2026. Shockingly, this includes more than 5,600 children who are currently growing up without a permanent home.

Dublin Simon’s street outreach team delivers vital supports through soup and breakfast runs, as well as regular rough sleeper welfare checks. But they also have an ongoing need for practical essentials such as water, suncream, hats and snacks to help keep people safe, nourished and protected during the Summer months.

Therefore, as part of this partnership, we invited all team members and also GEC clients to take part in a 'Summer Donation Drive' for essential items such as suncream, snacks, underwear, snack bars, light t-shirts, hats, lip balm, deodorant, hand sanitiser, and other hygiene products.

Our Culture Forum also organised a Company Volunteer Day where the GEC & Furthr Team came together to pack up donations into individual care packs.

Thank you all for your generosity and support, and a huge shout out to the packing team for taking the time out of their day to make up 18 Men's and 15 Women's Summer Care packages for those in need.
