International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year’s theme, "Give to Gain," resonates strongly with us at Furthr. For us, this isn't just a catchy slogan for a campaign; it’s a reflection of our core values. We believe that when we are Generous with Knowledge, Expertise, and Networks, it not only supports individuals but also uplifts the entire community. By Empowering and Enabling women on our team with intentional support and resources, we foster a stronger and more innovative company. This IWD, we wanted to hear directly from the brilliant women who shape Furthr. We asked them to share their experiences of how Furthr’s tools, resources, and culture have empowered them in their professional and personal journeys. Here are their stories:
Fuelling Career Progression and Professional Development:
At Furthr, we believe in nurturing talent and providing the tools for growth. We offer continuous learning and development opportunities and clear pathways for career advancement.
“Over the years at Furthr I’ve had the opportunity to work across different parts of the organisation, which has been an incredible way to learn and understand the business. Alongside that, being supported to continue my education has helped me grow professionally and ultimately led me to my role as Marketing Manager. It’s been really rewarding to develop my career in an environment that values learning and progression''. Emma Curran, Marketing Manager.
Empowering to Impact: Supporting the Next Generation of Founders
By investing in our team’s growth, we enable them to show up more effectively for the female founders we support. When our team feels empowered, they have more to give back to the entrepreneurs who are making impactful change.
“Over my four years working as a consultant in Ireland’s startup ecosystem, Furthr has given me the independence and flexibility to grow professionally while balancing my personal life. Supporting female founders and witnessing their growth is incredibly rewarding, and I feel privileged to continue the legacy my mum believed in - that women should break down barriers and reach their full potential. Most importantly, I want my daughter to see that there are no limits if you believe in yourself, follow your passion, and never give up. That belief drives my commitment to mentor and champion women entrepreneurs and help build a more inclusive startup community.” Dr Rosalind Beere – Furthr Consultant
Flexibility for Real Life:
We understand that work-life balance is crucial for overall well-being and professional success. Our flexible work arrangements, including remote work options and flexible hours, empower our team members to juggle their professional responsibilities with personal commitments and family life.
“Having recently returned from maternity leave after having my first baby, I found it daunting to balance my new responsibilities with work. However, Furthr has been incredibly supportive and accommodating. They encourage me to challenge myself and immerse myself in the work I enjoyed before my leave. The team provides any necessary upskilling and support as I transition back into my role, while being mindful of my new commitments. They genuinely want to make this transition as easy as possible for me. It's clear that this isn't just an obligation for them; they value me as a team member and are committed to ensuring that I am happy, growing, and progressing in my career.” Donna Byrne, Social & Digital Marketing Executive
As a mum of two young girls, the flexibility Furthr has given me is truly invaluable. Balancing work and family life can be challenging, but the hybrid working model that Furthr offer makes a real difference. Being able to work from home means I can take care of small things during the day - like putting on a load of washing or getting dinner started a little earlier on my lunch break. While they might seem like small tasks, they help free up precious time in the evening which means when I collect my daughters from childcare, I can focus on spending quality time playing with them and hearing about their day, instead of rushing through chores. Having that flexibility makes me feel supported, trusted, and motivated to do my best at work, knowing that my employer genuinely values work–life balance. Lisa Doyle, HR Operations Executive.
A Culture of Empowerment and Support:
Above all, Furthr is committed to creating an inclusive and empowering workplace where every voice is heard, and every contribution is valued. We believe in providing equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of gender, and fostering an environment of respect and appreciation.
''The culture at Furthr has evolved and transformed over the last decade, supported by a gender‑balanced leadership team and a foundation built on respect, trust, and recognition. Empowerment is a core value at Furthr, reflected not only in our founder‑focused approach but also in the strong culture of progression and psychological safety. Furthr has played a significant role in my professional and personal development, giving me the confidence and support to grow and advance within the organisation. It was the first place I worked where I truly felt my opinion mattered, where the purpose aligned with my own values, and where my contribution has been valued in every role I’ve held. I hope I have paid it forward by supporting and advocating for my colleagues and peers at Furthr in my current role. I now also hold a Non‑Executive role with Edmund Rice Development, a development organisation dedicated to advancing female health, education, and empowerment in developing countries. This work has allowed me to continue championing equality and opportunity beyond Furthr, and to contribute to causes that deeply align with my values''. Paula Finnan, HR Director.
We are incredibly proud of the talented women who make Furthr the company it is today. This International Women's Day, we reaffirm our commitment to investing in their growth, providing them with the necessary tools and resources, and creating a supportive and empowering environment where they can thrive. When we give our women the opportunity to succeed, we all gain.
Happy International Women's Day 2026!
